A client asked me the other day, "What happen after Easter?" She is not Catholic.
I told her during the 40 days after Easter Sunday, our Lord Jesus continues His work on earth reaching out to the unbelievers before He goes up to Heaven.
"Oh, what does He do during this 40 days?" My client asked.
"Well, He stays on earth and continues His miracles. You'll meet our Lord in a very unique way." I continued, "Like you told me earlier, and take that for example, you told me that you were in the park a couple days ago and there was a old lady in a wheel chair talking to you. She was telling you not to worry and was talking to your heart."
"Yes!' my client replied, "She was telling me things about me.... like, how did she know?" My client continued, "Can you believe it? She was reading the same Bible that I was reading!" My client was very sad before and has some challenges due to circumstances in her life, but she is keeping up her faith and reading the Bible. And now, she was all hopeful. She continued and said, "That was unbelievable. She has the same Bible that I have! She lifted my spirit that day."
We Catholic has only one Bible. There are many Bibles out there for all the other Christians. The odd to have the same exact Bible that a stranger sitting in the park has in one afternoon is amazing to me.
During these 40 days, I explained to my client that our Lord Jesus will continue His works and miracles on earth.
Think about this, during these 40 days, what do you do for our Lord? He'll come to you like that old lady in a wheelchair that no one talks to in the park. He'll come to you like that homeless starving on the street asking you for a penny or some food. He'll come to you like that puppy that was abused and a message appeared in your Facebook from friends, and when you look and found that puppy, what do you do? Can you help this puppy in any way? Yes, the puppy story is real, so real that I can even talk about it.
How you help and what you do are not bragging matters. Do it and do it quietly in your heart. Humble and give to the Lord the service from the gift that He has given to you.
I went online and did more research on what is the 40 days after Easter. And here's what I found:
The three feasts of Ascension (40 days after Easter), Pentecost (50 days after Easter) which leads to Trinity (the Sunday after Pentecost), in their different ways celebrate the belief that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are not just events of the past, but present day realities pointing the way to life, freedom and hope for all humankind now.
